Increase opportunities in higher education: ISTE president
Pudukkottai, Aug 14 (UNI) Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) president N R Shetty has urged the Union Government to take concrete steps in the 11th five-year plan to increase the opportunities in higher education.
Speaking at a function here yesterday, he said by providing higher education opportunities to the younger generation, abundant prospects in other parts of the globe could be tapped.
Advocating industry involvement for enhancement of curriculum with domain inputs, Prof Shetty called for an overhaul of the system for largescale generation of technical power of international standards.
Higher standards and greater creativity could be achieved through autonomy, he said, adding that institutions must possess the competence and willingness to use the delegated powers.
