High Court ruling signals "people's victory" : Mamata
Kolkata, Aug 14 (UNI) Terming the High Court ruling on the Rizwanur Rahman murder case as the "people's victory", Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee today demanded Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's resignation from the post.
'' I am satisfied with the ruling. It's the people's verdict. The truth in the murder case is yet to come to light if the people of the state could not create pressure, '' Ms Banerjee told newspersons here.
'' Mr Bhattacharjee should resign from the post after the court ruling, '' she demanded and sought exemplary punishment of the accused.
She alleged that there were no rules and regulations in the state and the administration was working at the behest of the CPI(M).
Calcutta High Court today ordered CBI to issue chargesheet against all the accused, including the former Police Commissioner Prasun Mukherjee, former DC (DD) Ajoy Kumar, AC (ARS) Sukanti Chowdhury and SI (ARS) Krishnendu Das.
