Foreign currency seized of Rs 18 lakh

Kannur, Aug 14 (UNI) Police seized foreign currency worth Rs 18 lakh from a person at Uliyil near Mattanur, 30 km from here, this morning.

Police said the seizure was effected following a tip off that one Shabeer and another person who were travelling in a van were carrying foreign currency notes in a suitcase.

The currency of Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Oman and the UAE were confiscated, police said.
