Employees Federation to go on strike on Aug 20
Chandigarh, Aug 14 (UNI) All India State Government Employees Federation and its allied unions would observe strike on August 20 in protest against the ''UPA govt's black decision on the eve of Independence Day to implement the 6th pay commission recommendations.'' The federation president M L Sehgal today said the ''unilateral decision to implement sixth pay panel report was a 'big betrayal' of 50 lakh Central and 80 lakh state government employees, who were now forced to resort to a strike.
"The abolition of group D posts will not be tolerated. The report has also reduced the annual average increase from five to three per cent. This report is anti-employee and we reject it," he said.
