EIH Ltd earns Rs 217.23 Cr profit in 2007-08

Kolkata, Aug 14 (UNI) EIH Limited, the flagship company of the Oberoi Group, has earned a net profit of Rs 217.23 crores in the last fiscal as compared to Rs 157.55 crores in the previous year, an increase of 38 per cent.

Disclosing this to newspersons here today, Company Chairman P R S Oberoi said the company earned a total revenue of Rs 1151.12 crores in the last fiscal as compared to Rs 995.20 crores in 2006-07, an increase of 16 per cent.

Mr Oberoi informed that the company has declared a dividend of Rs 1.80 per share as against Rs 1.40 per share during the previous year and the total income increased from Rs 233.59 crores to Rs 255.78 crores, an increase of over 10 per cent.

Regarding the Company's expansion plans, Mr Oberoi said the construction of the 436-room ''Trident'' at Bandra Kurla in Mumbai was nearing completion and the hotel was expected to open in January, 2009.

'' In the next three and a half years, we shall see the opening of ten hotels. We shall add 2300 rooms in India and abroad,'' Mr Oberoi observed.

'' We shall also add new Flight Kitchens in Mauritius, Kolkata, Cochin and Calicut. These Flight Kitchens will open at the end of 2009 or in early 2010,'' he maintained.
