Communal harmony in Punjab to be maintained at all costs: CM

Chandigarh, Aug 14 (UNI) The peace and communal harmony in Punjab would be maintained at all costs, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said in reaction to the reports of a clash between Dera Sacha Sauda followers and the locals in Barnala district.

''No one would be allowed to disturb the hard earned atmosphere of peace and communal harmony in the state, the Chief Minister said in a statement issued here.

Mr Badal also directed the local, civil and police authorities to maintain strict vigil and not allow any mischievous element to hurt the sentiments of any community.
