Case registered against police constable for indiscriminate firing
Srinagar, Aug 14 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police has registered a case against one of its constable for indiscriminate firing at Lasjan in which three civilians were killed and several others, including police and CRPF officials njured.
Police spokesman said this evening that constable Zahoor Ahmad Rather of 11th Battalion Security, fired indiscriminately without any provocation upon police, CRPF and civilians on August 12, at Lasjan, bypass Srinagar.
He said several civilians got killed in the firing while some police, CRPF personnel got seriously injured.
Police have registered a case FIR No 92/2008 against the constable who is absconding along with his service weapon A massive hunt has been launched to nab the constable, he said and appealed to people to help police in his arrest.
