AP Govt grants remission to 317 prisoners
Hyderabad, Aug 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Home minister K Jana Reddy today said the State Government has granted remission to 317 convicted prisoners lodged in various jails on the eve of Independece Day.
Talking to newspersons at Nalgonda town, Mr Reddy said the Governor ND Tiwari accepted the remission to the prisoners after a committee, constituted by the police officials submitted the report.
The minister said the Congress leader G Venkat Reddy's name, who was convicted in a murder case, was also included in the prisoner's list of remission.
