Violence during blockade in MP
Bhopal, Aug 13 (UNI) Minor incidents of clashes and violence were reported in Madhya Pradesh during blockade called by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) to protest the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board issue.
More than 300 VHP and BJP workers courted arrest while staging ''Chhakka jam'' at eleven places in Jabalpur.
At Dewas, some youth beat a senior advocate and damaged his car during the blockade.
Mr Ashok Kumar was going along with his family in a car when some youth allowed him to proceed but some VHP workers stopped his vehicle and indulged in violence.
''When I sought help on the spot from Station House Officer (SHO) S S Samadhia, he suggested me to first register FIR and assured further action,'' he said.
Police registered an FIR on the complaint of Mr Kumar.
Later, a delegation of advocates met senior police officers and demanded action against the guilty.
