Teachers continue to protest
Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Aug 13 (UNI) A group of teachers continued for the tenth consecutive day with their sit-in to press for their demands for merging their services on regular posts here today.
Agitating teachers underwent fasts en masse under the banner of Shikshakarmi Sangh district unit besides reciting scriptures from the holy books yesterday.
''Chief Minister and Panchayat Minister made an announcement of filling in 20 per cent posts of teachers with the merger of Shikshakarmis but the promise was not fulfilled,'' said Sangh leader G P Upadhayay.
The agitation would be continued till the demands were not met, he added.
