Srinagar, Aug 13 (UNI) Alleging that authorities had given a free hand to law enforcing agencies to kill peaceful processionists, the People Democratic Party (PDP) today demanded a judicial probe into the killings in Kashmir during the past three days.

In a joint statement issued here senior PDP leaders Abdul Aziz Zargar, Mohammad Dilawar Mir, Peer Muhammad Hussain, Sayed Basharat Bukhari, Sartaj Madni, Rafi Ahmad Mir and Bashir Assad criticised the state administration for what they termed as letting loose the rein of terror and giving free hand to law enforcing agencies to deal with the situation.

The government has to explain why there was indiscriminate firing on peaceful protestors at as many as 50 places in the valley during the past three days.

It was the law enforcing agencies which aggravated the situation by using brute force at many places in which innocent people were killed ruthlessly, they said.

The leaders said bullets were fired upon the hospital ambulances carrying injured to hospitals and in Baramulla even teargas shells were shooted inside the hospital.

The statement said the situation was blown out of proportion by the security agencies by resorting to indiscriminate firing, cane charging, loot and arson across the length and breadth of Kashmir valley, and alleged that in most of the parts of valley, houses were ransacked and house-holds destroyed by the security forces thereby aggravating the situation.
