Partial lunar eclipse on Aug 17
New Delhi, Aug 13 (UNI) A partial eclipse of the Moon will occur over India on August 17.
The eclipse will be visible for three hours nine minutes, from 0106 hrs to 0415 hrs on Sunday, an official statement said today.
The maximum eclipse will be visible at 0249 hrs when about 80 per cent of the Moon will be eclipsed.
The penumbral part of the eclipse, when the sunlight falling on the moon is not entirely cut-off, will begin at about 2356 hrs on August 16.
Besides India, people in the rest of Asia, South America, Europe, Africa and Australia will also be able to view the astronomic event.
