Mayawati decries Centre's role, thank party workers

Lucknow, Aug 13 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati today claimed that even after the un-cooperative role of the Congress-led central government, the present government has returned the state on the path of 'Uttam-Khushal Pradesh.' Addressing the party leaders here in connection with the preparation for the country-wide 'Janhit Chetna Andolan' to be launched on September 1, Ms Mayawati said the BSP took over the state from Samajwadi Party (SP), when the entire system was under collapse.

''We have strengthened the law and order system and with limited resources stepped up the development programmes even after un-cooperative role of the Central government,'' the CM told her party leaders.

Asking the party leaders and workers to aware the masses about the anti-UP role of the Congress and the negative approach by the opposition parties, she directed maximum participation of the 'Sarva Samaj' to make the Janhit Chetna Andolan a great success in the entire country.

The BSP president also thanked the party leaders for the success of the August 9, national workers convention here and even enquired from them about any hardship faced by the supporters during the convention or while returning to their native places.

During the meeting, Ms Mayawati also reviewed the party organisation at the district level.
