LeT commander surrenders in Doda
Jammu, Aug 13 (UNI) A top commander of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit surrendered before security forces in tehsil Thathri of Doda district, official sources here today said.
''Lashkar commander, identified as Abdul Rashid Chandel, 24, resident of Tanta, surrendered before 4 RR under the aegis of 4 Sector RR, Delta Force in Thatri area last night,'' official sources told UNI.
Meanwhile, one PIKA gun and seven rounds of PIKA ammunition were handed over by the surrendered militant to the security forces.
The militant was active in the area for the last eight years and was operating in the upper belts of Bhallessa, Bhaderwah, Kithar and other adjoining areas of Kishtwar and Doda districts, sources added.
