Left to launch human chain stir

Puducherry, Aug 13 (UNI) The Puducherry unit of the CPI and the CPI(M) would jointly organise a human chain agitation here tomorrow to press the Centre to drop the Indo-US nuclear deal.

Addressing a joint press conference here, CPI state secretary Na Ra Kalainathan and CPM secretary V Perumal alleged that the deal would not only affect the people, but also pose a threat to the integraity of the country.

The human chain would also to press for the provision of 14 essential commodities through the PDS, they said.

They also urged the public to extend its cooperation to make the general strike on August 20 a sucess.
