JP Associates to invest Rs 13,000 cr

Bhopal, Aug 13 (UNI) Prominent industrial group Jai Prakash Associates Limited will set up two cement, one aluminium plants and a power station at a cost of Rs 13,000 crore in Madhya Pradesh.

A memorandum of understanding in this regard was signed between the state government and the industrial group in the presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here yesterday. JP group's Chairman Manoj Gaur and Managing Director Sunny Gaur were also present.

The five million tonne annual capacity cement plants each costing Rs 2,000 crore will be set up at Satna and Amarpatan in Satna district.

With a total investment of Rs 3,500 crore the aluminium complex will be established in Rewa district to produce two lakh tonne alumina and one lakh tonne aluminium per year besides a captive thermal plant of 200 to 250 megawat capacity.

Two power units of 500 MW will be set up at Bina in Sagar district with an investment of Rs 550 crore. The plant will start production in 2011-12, official sources said.
