'Jagriti Yatra 2008' in December
Mumbai, Aug 13 (UNI) An inspirational train journey of over 8,000 km will be undertaken by 400 young entrepreneurs as a part of ''Jagriti Yatra 2008'' in December.
Speaking at the announcement function here today, Tata Sons, Executive Director R Gopalakrishnan said ''what we found attractive about Jagriti Yatra is the effort to motivate young India through a positive experimental event.'' The Yatra will start from Mumbai, head south to Trivandrum, Kanyakumari, proceed east to Bhubhaneshwar and Tatanagar via Bangalore and Hyderabad, then north to Lucknow and Delhi and return on January 10, 2009.
''We plan to create it as an institution out of exposure, which can't be learnt from textbooks. It would be as good as attending a semister,'' Jagriti Sewa Sansthan Chairman, Shashank Mani said.
The programme would include meetings with 30 role models including ex-Director General, Police, Kiran Bedi (for implementing reforms in jails) and Mark Tully (for his insight on India), holding debates and creating positive ''tension'' among participants, Mr Mani added.
