flood situation in Kolhapur continues to remain grim
Kolhapur, Aug 13 (UNI) The flood situation in Kolhapur district continued to be grim today although the rain fury has slightly abated.
Incessant rains, that lashed the district for the last two weeks, abated to some extent yesterday, however, the city was lashed by moderate to heavy rains this afternoon.
Panchaganga river continued to flow at the 46.5 feet, crossing danger mark of 43 feet since last two days at the rajaram bandhara at kasaba bavada suburb, district collector's office sources said here today.
At least 25 villages were totally affected in the rains and cut off from road connectivity. 19 houses were damaged in the rain while 1353 were partially affected.
Some 5028 people have been shifted to safer places across the district.
