40 injured in fresh Kashmir violence
Srinagar, Aug 13 (UNI) About 40 people were injured, six of them with bullet wounds, when security forces and police opened fire and burst teargas shells to disperse processionists supporting the Muzaffarabad march and protesting the killing of more than 20 people and injuries to over 500 during the past three days in the Valley.
Meanwhile, the toll in yesterday's police and security force firing has risen to 15 with the death of two more injured in the hospital today.
Faishal Ahmad Dar, who was injured in police firing at Bagh-e- Mehtab and Hafiz Ullah wounded at Qamarwari, succumbed in the hospital.
Their nimaz Jinazah was offered at historic Jamia masjid before they were laid to rest.
Security forces opened fire after bursting of teargas shells and lathicharge had no affect on the pro-freedom slogan shouting processionists at Habba Kadal in the old city.
The injured were hospitalised while the condition of one of them is stated to be critical.
About 20 people, injured in different parts of the city this afternoon were admitted to SMHS hospital.
