VHP district unit demands return of Amarnath land

Nashik, Aug 12 (UNI) A delegation of Nashik district unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) submitted a memorandum to the district collector, demanding return of land to the shri Amarnath Shrine Board here today.

A delegation, led by Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Shree Sanvidanand Sarswati, Mahant Ramsnehdasji Maharaj and VHP's district working president Madhavdas Maharaj Rane, gave the memorandum to the collector.

In the memorandum, the VHP has applealed to all the Hindus to support the agitation by Kashmiri Hindus regarding the land row.

Adequate Arrangement for the Amarnath pilgrimage by the Shrine Board and removal of the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, who took the decision to take back the land from the Board, were some of the other important demands made in the memorandum.

The VHP also appealed to the district collector to make the Prime Minister aware of the memorandum and the sentiments of people.

Meanwhile, the VHP will observe a nationwide 'chakka jaam' agitation tomorrow.
