Thousands protest killings in Kashimr and economic blockade
Kargil, Aug 12 (UNI) Complete shut down was observed in this town as thousands of people took to street in protest against the killings of Kashmiris in police firing and economic blockade and attack on drivers in Jammu.
Shops and business establishments in the town and adjoining areas remained closed on a strike call given by Jamaat-e-Ulma Kargil to protest the communal forces who forced economic blockade in Kashmir and firing on peaceful processionists resulting on the death of about 20 people and injured to more then 400 during the past two days.
Work in the government offices and educational institutions was effected. Later in the afternoon thousands of people took to streets raising slogans and marched to different streets.
They were later addressed by Sheik Ahmmad Mohmadee appealing people not to get mislead by rumours.
He said the entire people of Kargil are with Kashmiris.
