South-West monsoon active over Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 12 (UNI) The South-West Monsoon has been active over Kerala and rain occurred at many places in Lakshadweep during the last 24 hours.
CIAL, Kochi, Konni and Vythiri reported heavy rainfall of 7 cm each, the local weather office said.
The chief amount of rainfall in cm were Kochi Airport, Kottyam, Kozhikode and Kozha 6 each, Alappuzha, Kanjirappally, Thrissur and Vatakara 5 each.
Rainfall will occur at many places in the state and the Union Territory with heavy rainfall likely at isolated places in the State during the next 48 hours, it said.
Strong onshore wind from Westerly direction with speeds occasionally reaching 45-55 km was likely along and off the Kerala coast and over Lakshadweep during the next 24 hours,it said.
