Rupee weakens at 42.33 per US Dollar

Mumbai, Aug 12: The Rupee weakened by 18 paise at 42.33/34 against US Dollar from its previous close of 42.15/16 as the greenback strengthened in the international markets and the stock markets slipped into the red in the opening trade on Tuesday, Aug 12.

The domestic unit moved southward against the greenback after the dollar rose to six-month highs versus a basket of currencies overseas. Back home, the rupee came under pressure by large dollar demand from a foreign bank, dealers said.
