Patriots Day to be observed in Manipur

Imphal, Aug 12: The Manipur government will observe Patriots Day at the Saheed Minar here.

The day is commemorated to pay tributes to those who were killed during the 1891 Anglo-Manipur War after which Prince Bir Tikendrajit and General Thangal were hanged to death on August 13, 1891.

Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and other dignitaries will pay floral tributes at the memorial place.
