{image-L&T logo_12082008.jpg news.oneindia.in}New Delhi, Aug 12: Larsen&Toubro Ltd (L&T), the country's largest engineering and construction conglomerate, on Tuesday, Aug 12 said it has bagged engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) orders worth Rs 3,816 crore from various clients in the metals industry.

The company has received the contracts in consortium with global technology partners. L&T in consortium with Germany's Outotec GmbH bagged Rs 2,545 crore EPC orders from Tata Steel for 6 MiTPA Pellet Plant and 3,800 CuM blast furnace at Jamshedpur. The company's share is valued at Rs 1,578 crore, it said in a statement. In consortium with Italy's Paul Wurth, the company received an order for 2.5 MiTPA blast furnace on EPC basis, which is scheduled for commissioning in 30 months.

L&T-Outotec consortium has also bagged Rs 753 crores order for 360 sq mt sinter plant, scheduled for commissioning in 30 months for SAIL-RSP expansion of 3.7 MiTPA. L&T's share is valued at Rs 588 crore.

The company also bagged an order worth Rs 518 crore from Hindustan Zinc for 2.1 lakh TPA leaching, purification and zinc electrolysis plant, the statement said.
