Lease for B N R Hotels at Ranchi

Patna, Aug 12 (UNI) Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) today clarified that B N R Hotel-Puri and B N R Hotel-Ranchi were given to private partners for maintenance through open tender.

IRCTC sources said here that a memorandum to this effect was signed between Railways and the Corporation on March 19, 2004.

It was mentioned in the memorandum that corporation would have the right to sub-lease the hotel to the private partners for its maintenance, sources added.

'' During the regime of Mr Nitish Kumar as Railway Minister, it was decided that the corporation would sub-lease the hotels to private partners, '' sources said adding the sub-leasing of B N R Hotels at Puri and Ranchi were done in accordance with earlier decision.

'' The tender inviting quotations from the private partners for maintening the B N R Hotels at Ranchi and Puri were published in 105 newspapers, '' sources said and added that the private partners were given lease for maintenance of the hotels in accordance with the rules.

Earlier, president of Bihar unit of the JD(U) Rajeev Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh had alleged in press conference that Railway Minister Lalu Prasad had extended favour to his close associates in giving lease for maintenance of the B N R Hotels at Ranchi and Puri.
