Leading trader in North Bihar shot dead by miscreants

Betiah, Aug 12 (UNI) A leading businessman of North Champaran district was gunned down by armed assailants in his office here today.

Police said the incident took place at around 1600 hrs when three motorcycle-borne armed assailants raided Mr Munna Singh's office at the Gulabbagh area in the district headquarters here and shot him dead from point blank range.

Soon after the murder the assailants fled firing shots in the air to scare the passersby. Later, police recovered one of their motorcycles which the assailants had left behind after it developed a technical snag.

A murder case had been registered in the local police station and search was on to nab the culprits,the police added.

Old business rivalry was believed to be the reason for the murder.
