Kaparada in Valsad district receives 327 mm rainfall

Valsad, Aug 12 (UNI) Heavy rains continued to lash south Gujarat for the third consecutive day today with the picturesque Kaparada taluka in the district receiving 327 mm of rainfall during the past 24 hours.

District Collector R B Dave, along with other senior officials, visited various parts of the district, affected by heavy rains, to take stock of the situation.

No untoward incident has been reported from any part of the district so far, officials said.

Dharampur taluka received 230 mm rains, while Umargaon taluka 245 mm, Pardi taluka 158 mm and Valsad taluka 77 mm rainfall during the past 24 hours.

Following incessant rains, water level at Madhuban dam rose to 71 meters. District administration has released 1,25,368 cusecs water from the dam, as it is receiving about 94,538 cusecs water from its catchment area.
