Excise Superintendent held for taking bribe
Visakhapatnam, Aug 12 (UNI) B Suresh Babu, a Central Excise Superintendent, was caught red-handed by the ACB and CBI today while taking a bribe of Rs 20,000 from B Nageswara Rao, Managing Director of Simhagiri Paper Mills Pvt Ltd., who later lodged a complaint.
CBI sources here said Mr Babu demanded the bribe for issuing Central Excise Registration Certificate in the name of Simhagiri Paper Mills.
Mr Babu was arrested and searches were conducted at various places in the district.
The CBI and ACB jointly registered a case, a CBI release added.
