Dawood's brother Anees Ibrahim held in Jeddah
New Delhi, Aug 12: Underworld Don, Dawood Ibrahim's brother Anees Ibrahim, was reported detained at the Jeddah Airport in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, Aug 12. He was allegedly arrested for carrying fake passport. Sources said that both the Indian Embassy in Jeddah and the city's Interpol have been alerted to the possible detention of Anees. Anees Ibrahim is the prime suspect in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts. He actively participated in the conspiracy and arranged to send consignments of AK-56 small arms and grenades to Mumbai.
Dawood Ibrahim, also known as Dawood Ebrahim, and Sheikh Dawood Hassan, is the head of the organized crime syndicate D-Company in Mumbai. He is currently on the wanted list of Interpol for organised crime and counterfeiting. He was No. 4 on the Forbes' world's Top 10 most dreaded criminals list of 2008.
