CPI(M) worker injured in political clash

Kannur, Aug 12 (UNI) A CPI(M) worker was injured when he was allegedly hacked by NDF activists at Pappinissery in Kannur district today.

The injured, K V Shiju (25) of Narayankulam, was admitted to a private hospital with multiple injuries on his body, police said.

Tension prevailed in the area, following the clashes between NDF and CPI(M) activists in the last few days, in which three people were injured, police said.

Police have convened a peace meeting to ease tension in the area.
