Bag with wires creates panic in Chennai Intl airport

Chennai, Aug 12: Security men at the Anna International Airport were on tenterhooks on Tuesday, Aug 12 morning after finding some wires jutting out of a gift hamper left next to the portico.

Airport sources said some passersby noticed the hamper with wires and alerted the securitymen. The bomb detection and disposal squad rushed to the place with sniffer dogs. After ruling out the possibility of any explosives inside, they examined the bag and found machine part. A case was registered and efforts were on to trace the prankster who put the entire airport security machinery in the groove for over an hour.
