ANC comes down on narcotic peddlers; seven arrested
Mumbai, Aug 12 (UNI) The Anti Narcotic Cell (ANC) has arrested seven persons, including two Nigerian, and seized drugs worth around Rs one crore.
Speaking to reporters here today, Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishwash Nagare Patil said they had received information that a person would be coming to Chembur area in eastern suburbs at around 2000 hours last night to deliver 16 kg charas worth Rs 1.28 crore in the international market.
Accordingly the ANC laid a trap and nabbed Premsing Hajarimal Jaiswal (50), hailing from Rajasthan, who had brought 1.28 kg charas from Nepal to deliver it to a party at Chembur.
On August five, they arrested three persons -- Ishwar Gopal Narwale alias Baba (42), Mohammed Sayed Faruq Qureshi and Iliyash Abdulrajak Bangi alias Mamu and seized eight Kg of Charas worth Rs 64 lakh.
In another case, police arrested Aalukunle Aalaribegi (37) and Dyniel Okeke (26), both Nigerian nationals, for possessing 15 gms of cocaine worth Rs 1.8 lakh, on August 8.
In yet another case, on August 10 police arrested Sarfaraj Maruksha Khan (26) and seized 67 gms of cocaine worth Rs 8.04 lakh in the international market, he added.
