WBPCC congratulates Abhinav Bindra

Kolkata, Aug 11 (UNI) The Congress in West Bengal today congratulated shooter Abhinav Bindra on notching up a gold medal in Men's 10 metre Air Rifle event at Beijing Olympics.

'' India's journey for gold medal-hunt in the Olympics commences today, indicating that such success story would repeat itself.

Sports should be kept out of harm's way by eradicating politics from the sphere, '' West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee working president Pradip Bhattacharjee told UNI over phone.

'' The day is memorable for every citizen of the country as it is the first individual gold medal in the Olympics, '' he added.
