UP Assembly 5-day monsoon session from Aug 18

Lucknow, Aug 11 (UNI) A brief five-day monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly would start from August 18.

According to Assembly officials here today, first supplementary budget of the government would be tabled at 1220 hours on August 19, while it would be passed the next day.

The House will also take up three ordinances -- UP Higher Education Service Commission Amendment Act, UP Industrial area Development Amendment Act and UP Value Added Taxes Amendment Act -- during August 21 and 22, when legislative business would be taken up.

Officials said that Assembly speaker Sukhdeo Rajbhar has convened a meeting with the leaders of all the political parties on August 17, while on the same day the business advisory committee of the House would meet to discuss over the business of the House.

The last Assembly session was adjourned sine die on March 11 after 18 sittings after passing of the budget.
