Two persons burnt to death as trawler overturns

Sangrur, Aug 11 (UNI) Two persons were burnt to death while another sustained serious burn injuries after a trawler overturned and then caught fire between Channo and Simarwal village under the Bhawanigarh police station today.

According to police sources, the mishap occured after the driver lost control of the vehicle and it fell into a road side ditch. The trawler immediately caught fire as a result of which two persons were burnt alive while driver, Karamjit Singh who received serious burn injuries was rescued by villagers.

One of the deceased was Ajmer Singh, father of the driver while the other was yet to be identifed. The injured driver was refered to the Rajindera hospital at Patiala.
