Two drown in Talao in Goregaon

Mumbai, Aug 11: Two picnikers drowned in a pond at the Picnic Point, near Aray Colony in the subsurban Goregaon on Sunday, Aug 10, police said on Monday, Aug 11.

A group of workers of Hansa Industrial Estate had gone for a picnic to the pond, they added.

Around 1700 hrs, one of them Dinesh alias Ganesh Gopisingh (21) went for a swim, while others were playing football. Suddenly Ashok Kumar Shivshankar Maurya (24) heard Dinesh crying out for help.

Maurya jumped into the pond to rescue Dinesh, but was drowned along with him.

The fire brigade personnel fished out their bodies at around 2200 hrs, police said.
