Scribes stop publication of militants' statements

Imphal, Aug 11 (UNI) The All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) today decided not to publish the statements and press releases of the People's United Liberation Front (PULF-Farooq faction).

One AK Zahir of the faction had asked a local cable network to close down and threatened journalists for editing a statement issued by the outfit.

The media fraternity, after discussing the issue, decided not to bow to the dictates of the militant outfit and stop publishing their statements, an AMWJU official said.
