Robotic submarine designed by DCE students bags US award
New Delhi, Aug 11 (UNI) A robotic submarine designed by students of Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) has won the 'Most Improved Design Award' for 2008 in a world competition in the United States, a DCE release said.
Code named 'Varun', the submarine, designed by a team of ten undergraduate DCE students, bagged the most improved design award at the competition held at San Diego in the US from July 29 to August 3.
The DCE team was the only team from India that participated in the event, where approximately 40 teams from various countries of the world including MIT, Georgia; Tech, Cornell and Maryland, US took part.
Further, the DCE AUV was placed among the top ten teams from the leading universities of the world.
