Punjab Gov and UT Administrator, congrats to Abhinav

Chandigarh, Aug 11 (uni) The Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Gen (retd) S F Rodrigues today congratulated Abhinav Bindra for his outstanding performance in bagging the first ever individual Gold Medal for India in the Beijing Olympics.

Describing the triumph of Abhinav as a landmark achievement, Gen Rodrigues said "it was truly heartening to watch him win the Gold Medal and it made us all, especially 'Chandigarhians', proud".

The Administrator also announced a reward of Rs five lakh from the Chandigarh Administration, to Abhinav for bringing laurels to the Union Territory. He expressed the hope that the achievement of this young shooter will act as a source of inspiration and motivation for other budding players, to emulate him.
