Pune registers increase of 13.5 per cent in IT returns
Pune, Aug 11 (UNI) The Income Tax (IT) Department in the city has registered a growth of 13.5 per cent on IT returns as against the corresponding period last year.
Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, Pune, V S Kumar said here today that the Assessing Officers of Pune region have received more than 12 lakh regular paper returns as on July 31, more than 2 lakh returns as compared to last year.
In Pune, the Erandwane office topped the list in the local area, registering 1.39 lakh returns.
Maharashtra topped the list of E-returns in the conntry. A total of 12.49 lakh E-returns were filed from all over the country of which the state registered 2.78 lakh returns, the commissioner said.
