State PMK plea to Centre for power allocation

Puducherry, Aug 11: PMK state secretary and Parliamentary Party Leader M Ramadass on Monday, Aug 11 urged the Centre to provide 70 MW power to the Union Territory from the allocation for the South from the Central Grid.

In a letter to Union Power Minister Sushilkumar Shinde, Prof Ramadoss said there was severe power shortage in Puducherry, affecting the development of the Union Territory. The industrial estates here were also facing power cuts.

He recalled Puducherry Power Minister V Vaithilingam had already written two letters to Mr Shinde on the issue.
