No rift in BJP camp: Bacchi Singh Rawat

Dehra Dun, Aug 11 (UNI) Uttarakhand BJP President Bacchi Singh Rawat today refuted claims that the party camp was headed for a major split after 26 legislators met party president Rajnath Singh in Delhi and said they would be interrogated on their return to the state.

Addressing mediapersons at a meeting here, Mr Rawat clarified that there was no ''rift'' or ''groupism'' within the party camp and such aspersions were only ''rumours''.

To repeated enquires on what action the Congress High Command would now take against the dissident leaders, Mr Rawat said they would be questioned on their motive behind going to Delhi and meeting Mr Singh.

A meeting would be held after Chief Minister Khanduri returned from Delhi and whatever differences the MLAs had with the leadership would be sorted out, he said.

Mr Rawat said he had instructed his party workers to concentrate on the forthcoming Panchayat elections due in September.

As many as 26 legislators led by former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshiyari met Mr Singh at his residence in Delhi yesterday and expressed displeasure at Khanduri's style of functioning.
