More than 9000 policemen to be appointed in Bihar soon:Nitish
Patna, Aug 11 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today announced that more than 9000 policemen, including Sub Inspectors(SIs), would be appointed soon.
Mr Kumar told reporters here that the special drive for recruitment of the policemen would be launched soon to fill up the large number of vacancies of constables and SIs.
''I have also directed the officers concerned to launch separate drive for clearing the backlogs of large number of vacancies in police under various reserved categories including SC, ST, OBC and EBC,'' he said.
Referring to the alleged irregularities committed in earlier recruitment of constables and SIs, Mr Kumar said a thorough probe was being conducted into the matter and fresh appointments against such posts would be made if allegations proved correct.The guilty officers in this regard would not be spared, he warned.
