Kalam to be the visiting Professor at SRM
Chennai, Aug 11 (UNI) Former President A P J Abdul Kalam has accepted to be the Visiting Professor of Eminence in Medical Technology at the city-based Sri Ramachandra University (SRM).
Dr Kalam gave his acceptance, when Mr S Rangaswami, Vice Chancellor and Prof S Thyagarajan, Director and Chief Advisor (Research) met him at New Delhi and conveyed the invitation of the Chancellor V R Venkatachalam, a University release here said.
Dr Kalam would teach students in Medical and Paramedical disciplines and guide students for Ph.D, it said adding a research scholar had already registered under Mr Kalam for Ph.D in the area of Telemedicine and E-governance in the University.
Dr Kalam had expressed his desire to interact with young doctors, nurses and other para-medical students and motivate research scholars to reach the benefits of medical science, research and technology to the largest number of people even in the remotest parts of the country, it said.
Dr Kalam would have his first interaction with the research scholars and nurses in the University on September one, the release added.
