Itanagar, Aug 11 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu today threatened to pull-out the Memorandum of Agreements (MoAs) inked with various power developers if they failed to execute the works on hydro power projects allotted to them in the state. Addressing a review meeting of the progress on various power projects, allotted to 23 power companies including power giants like National Hydro Electric Power Corporation (NHPC) and North East Electrical Power Corporation (NEEPCO), Mr Khandu made it clear that the state government would not tolerate delay in execution of the projects. '' We would cancel the MoAs of those power developers who failed to complete their projects in time. More works would be awarded to those who would be able to complete the ongoing projects in time,'' the chief minister cautioned.

Arunachal Pradesh with power potential of over 55,000 mw during the last couple of years had signed MoAs with various power developers, including private companies for executing 69 projects with an installed capacity of 24,348 mw.

While expressing dissatisfaction over the progress made by NHPC and NEEPCO in executing works, Mr Khandu advised them to comply with the time envisaged in the MoAs in respect to preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR), beginning and completion of a particular project.

He, however, praised the private power developers for their speedy progress.

He said while NHPC and NEEPCO had failed to look into the grievances of the local people at respective project sites, the private players within a short span of time was able to gain the peoples' confidence by giving them adequate facilities and ample employment scope.
