Chhattisgarh gives Rs 1 lakh to Bindra

Raipur, Aug 11: The Chhattisgarh government will give a reward of Rs one lakh to ace shooter Abhinav Bindra for winning individual gold medal for India in 10m air rifle event in Beijing Olympics today, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said.

''Abhinav Bindra's historic feat will boost up the morale of other Indian Olympians'', Dr Singh said in his congratulatory message on behalf of over 2 crore population of Chhattisgarh.

The state government will organise a function to honour the ace shooter, the Chief Minister added.
