Case registered against researcher
Aurangabad, Aug 11 (UNI) Police today booked a woman researcher with Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) for obtaining the Rajeev Gandhi Fellowship by allegedly submitting bogus documents.
According to sources, Jyoti Bhaskarrao Chavan, the researcher who belongs to Maratha caste, obtained the fellowship meant for SC/ST students for doing MPhil and PHD by the UGC, for the year 2007-08 by submitting documents that should her belonging to SC category.
The head of the department (HoD) and the academic guide endorsed the documents of the researcher.
A case has been registered against her and university officials by the Begumpura police station, sources added.
