Armed miscreants shot trader

Barrackpore, Aug 11 (UNI) A gang of armed miscreants shot one shop owner at Panchpota under Gaighata police station in North 24 Parganas.

Police here today said, Tushar Biswas, chief of Panchpota market committee and a shop owner was shot by the miscreants last evening.

The 50 year old victim succumbed to his bullet injuries on way to the hospital.

When trying to flee, one of the miscreant was nabbed by the police and being interrogated to arrest other culprits, police said adding the motive of the killing was yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile market committee had called the bandh at Panchpota today.
