Woman commits suicide in Kashmir

Srinagar Aug 11: A woman committed suicide in the Kashmir valley where the trend has not shown any decline despite a fatwa by Muslim ulmas against it.

Official sources said, one Bilqeesa, wife of Abdul Rehman Khan, consumed poison in her Kawari Trehgam residence in Kupwara district.

She was immediately rushed to Sub District Hospital Trehgam where she later died.

Almost two people, mostly women, are commiting suicide daily in the Kashmir valley though a fatwa was issued by the ulmas declaring it an unislamic act.
